Description
This scholarship is awarded to students who perform exceptionally well in the UMAT each year. The UMAT is highly competitive, and recipients of this prize are extremely able and well prepared.
Prizes are awarded to the top three performers in the UMAT each year.
Past winners
Congratulations to our winners of this year's MedEntry UMAT Excellence Prize. The following three students gained outstanding scores in all three sections of the UMAT and were awarded monetary prizes to further their studies.
First prize: Jeremy Ho (Sydney, NSW)

The 2009 UMAT Scholarship winners were Stephen Ward (Brisbane, QLD), Xiu Xian Pham (Melbourne, Vic), Emily Irwin (Dunedin, NZ. The 2008 UMAT Scholarship winners were Sarah Thompson (Melbourne, Vic), Shane Selvanderan (Adelaide, SA) and Grace Leo (Sydney, NSW). The 2007 UMAT Scholarship winners were James Pangilinan (Lidcombe, NSW), Benjamin Wu (Sunnybank Hills, QLD) and James Shand (Auckland, NZ). The 2006 UMAT Scholarship winners were Thomas O'Donnell (Melbourne, Vic), Richard Liu (Bexley, NSW) and Devarshi Bhattacharyya (Mt Eden, NZ). The 2005 UMAT Scholarship winners were Steven Forbes (Brisbane, Qld), Cindy Wei (Sydney, NSW) and Muhammad Mowjood (Nelson, NZ). The 2004 UMAT Scholarship winners were John Lau (Sydney, NSW), Suran Wickramaarachchi (Melbourne, Vic) and Gerard Dalgleish (Ararat, Vic).

Criteria
Scholarships are awarded to students who receive the highest UMAT combined score, defined as the highest total score when the three section scores are combined, as displayed on the applicant’s ACER UMAT Statement of Results Transcript.
Value
First prize $1000, second prize $500, third prize $250.
