Jane Addams Scholarship
About Jane Addams
Jane Addams was born in Illinois, as the eighth of nine children. Three of her siblings died in infancy, and her mother died from tuberculosis during pregnancy when Jane was just two years old. Dr Addams worked toward goals such as jouvenile law, womens’ rights, workers’ compensation, justice for immigrants, poverty, pacifism and international peace. She was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1931, becoming the first US woman to win the prize.
Criteria
This bursary is awarded to students with outstanding and demonstrated community service activities, who receive offers to medical schools.
This bursary is available to one student from Ireland each year.
Value
Up to €500.

- Evidence of community involvement (eg. letter from school)
- Certified copy of enrolment in a medical degree program in Ireland
- Proof of enrolment in a MedEntry HPAT course
